Renaissance Covington Names New Executive Director, Nick Wade

The Renaissance Covington Board of Directors is pleased to announce that after an extensive search, Nick Wade has been selected to take over as Executive Director of Renaissance Covington.

“After a rigorous regional search, we are thrilled to have Nick join Renaissance Covington. His experience and creativity are assets for our organization and our community.” says Rebekah Gensler, Renaissance Covington Board of Directors President. “We, along with our staff and community, look forward to seeing our programs grow and thrive under his leadership.”

Nick Wade is a native Kentuckian of Danville, KY. Wade has served as the Director of the Heart of Danville Main Street Program since 2015. During his time in Danville, he helped install the first large scale mural in the downtown, developed a monthly concert series, and led the most successful membership drive in the programs 32-year history. Prior to joining the Main Street organization, Wade served as a publicist to numerous country music artists in Nashville, TN. He holds a B.A. in Public Relations from Eastern Kentucky University.

“For the last three years, my husband and I have been visiting Covington, between attending Renaissance Covington events, enjoying the great restaurants, and the all-around vibe of Covington we have fallen in love with the community.“ says Nick Wade.

Renaissance Covington spearheads many community-focused events concentrated in the Central Business District of Covington (the Renaissance district), including the Covington Night Bazaars, Public Art initiatives, Free Public Wi-Fi, a year-round Covington Farmers Market and many other placemaking and arts and community based initiatives.


“Renaissance Covington’s placemaking initiatives and events have created a unique Kentucky destination that I have been admiring for several years - the Night Bazaar and NKY Pride being personal favorites.” says Wade

Nick, his husband, and their three dogs, are looking forward to joining the Covington community in just a few weeks, as Wade will being work at Renaissance Covington on March 11, 2019.
